Salvation is simple, God made it that way! But a lot of confusion and preconceived ideas are out there today! So let’s explain it!
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, BUT THAT ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE.” 2 Peter 3:9
It doesn’t matter where you come from, your past, your lifestyle, your age. God wants You. You are not “too bad” for God to love you!! It doesn’t matter how many bad things you have done, no matter how bad they are, God really does love you and wants you to come to Him and be saved just as you are. “GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD...” John 3:16
"NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAVE DONE, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY HE SAVED US..." Titus 3:5
If I could be saved by being a good person, why did Jesus have to die on the Cross?
The problem with trusting in good works is this: Let's say I have sinned only once in my entire life, then I died and went to Heaven with that one sin. If God let me into Heaven with that one sin, He would have to let everyone else into Heaven with that one sin, and Heaven would be as bad as this earth. So just one sin can prevent us from going to Heaven.
You may be a good person, but you are still a sinner. "FOR ALL HAVE SINNED, AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD" Romans 3:23
"THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH" Romans 6:23
Since we cannot get to Heaven with sin on our heart, then we will end up going to Hell forever and ever. The Bible tells us of a man that died in sin and went to Hell. "AND IN HELL HE LIFT UP HIs EYES, BEING IN TORMENT..." Luke 16:23 You may not believe in Hell, but the Bible talks about it in many places.
"BUT GOD COMMENDETH (SHOWED) HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US." Romans 5:8
So Jesus bled and died on the Cross to wash your sins away in his own blood. "...WITHOUT SHEDDING OF BLOOD, IS NO REMISSION" (TAKING AWAY). Hebrews 9:22
"WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED" Romans 10:13
Is that a Promise? Yes it is! God will not lie to you.
So open your heart to God right now and pray and ask God to save you, and He will keep his promise. He will save you. You can pray a simple prayer like this:
“Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner, and I know you paid for my sin on the Cross. I now ask you Jesus to come into my heart, and wash away my sin in your blood. I now trust you Jesus, and You alone to take me to Heaven when I die. In Jesus name, Amen."
